The atmosphere in the hotel feels authentic and inviting, with historic charm radiating throughout. The location centers you in the heart of town with reasonable free parking options.
Expect noise issues, as conversations and door slams travel easily between rooms, requiring earplugs for a sound night's rest. Rooms vary in size and can feel cramped, especially with luggage, while the dining area gets overly busy, forcing dinner to a late 8:30 PM time slot. Breakfast selection could be wider and more satisfying for travelers.

Honestly no complaints whatsoever. The hotel with good sized rooms, in a cute area, to everyplace in Lom. Unique building and rooms with a balcony. Stunning and wonderful location as only 5 minutes to Norwegian Mountain Museum.

The room was neat and fairly quiet with separated bed's, the breakfast was great! A sofa bed, central heating, and an electronic key card were important for us. Perfect central location right by the centre of town and the nearby national parks. Moreover, the hotel was at a medium distance from Norsk Fjellmuseum.

A fair review, pros and cons
Really good dining experience! The staff genuinely cared, going the extra mile with early breakfast sandwiches. The cozy atmosphere made settling in easy.
Rooms were quite cramped, lacking modern amenities like a hairdryer or refrigerator. The bathroom layout led to some awkward moments during use.

The rooms were reasonably large with a balcony, the staff were reasonably good. The hotel was in a stunning location, in the village centre.

I stayed in the Economy Double or Twin Room and found it quite basic, lacking even a comfortable seating option. The walls were thin, and I was frequently disturbed by sounds from neighboring rooms, made sleeping a challenge. The restaurant was disturbingly busy, with dinner not available until 8:30 PM due to being fully booked, quite frustrating.

The atmosphere in Fossheim Hotel really captured the charm of traditional Norway. The cozy wood decor and beautiful mountain views created a warm setting. I especially loved the breakfast buffet that included porridge and made-to-order pancakes-it felt personal and homey. The dinner was really good too, with delicious options like venison, showcasing local flavors. Room size felt a bit cramped, especially with luggage. Sound insulation wasn't great. I could hear conversations from nearby rooms. While the staff provided thoughtful service, like making sandwiches for early departures, some basic amenities like a hairdryer were missing in the room.

The Small Twin Room was cozy with a lovely wood finish, and it felt traditional without being overly touristy. The views were beautiful, especially with the mountains outside. The beds were comfortable and the room was super clean, but it was quite small and a bit cramped. A little more modern amenities would have been nice, like a hairdryer, but it didn't ruin my stay. Just a nice blend of charm and comfort!

I was super impressed with the thoughtful staff who made me tasty sandwiches for my early departure and even got me some coffee to go! There’s a cozy garden area and a chill lounge that's perfect for unwinding after a long day. The only downside was that the room felt a bit tight for my luggage, but it didn't take away from my fantastic experience. 😄
